Audio-Technica's great sounding headphones Video Transcript

Hi. I'm David Carnoy, Executive Editor for CNET.com and I'm here with the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Headphones. These are some of the best headphones you can buy for less than $200. You can get them online for about a $160 and they really are quite good. They are built like tanks. They do fold flat, they don't fold up but they are very sturdy, well built and comfortable too. Lots of padding in the ear-cups. These are considered motor headphones and they do come with a quarter inch adapters you can hook into your A/V Receiver at home and listen there, but they do work with portable devices like the iPhone, Android Smartphones, iPad, whatever. One of the keeping here is they deliver really nicely balanced sound. Good amount of bass. Very detailed and just a really good headphone for less than $200. It's also worth noting that they do have a nice stick single cord design, with a kind of telephone cord spiral design at the bottom, so they are extendable and they're also is that reinforced headphone jack at the bottom. So, these really are well built headphones and I do think they are a great value at there price point. I'm David Carnoy and those are the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Headphones.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Review

The good: The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones offer excellent build quality and very detailed, balanced sound with tight bass. They're also very comfortable and are a relative bargain.

The bad: There's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls; the bulkier design makes them less suitable for mobile use; and the headphone cord isn't detachable.

The bottom line: The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones are among the best available for less than $200, offering excellent sound and build quality.
