Asus Zenbook Prime UX32VD hands-on Video Transcript
I'm Dan Ackerman and we are here taking a look. The Asus UX 32 VD. Steve you're snickering about the name until later this is part of -- -- -- book line which is there ultra book line of laptops. The originals and book as one of the first generation of ultra books. Originally designed to compete with those other early models and also. -- -- Apple MacBook Air -- probably the most popular ultra thin thirteen inch laptop perfectly fine but this latest version. The UX 32 is is really advanced compared to a lot of the other ultimately seen it includes a lot of features that usually see stripped out I would coastal -- to call it. Very close to being an ultra book with -- compromise what does that mean that means it's got an Intel Core I seven CPU. It's got a full 1080. 1920 by 1080 that the resolution you very rarely see on a thirteen inch laptop and perhaps most importantly. I it has a discrete Nvidia GPU now it's only a 620 MG PU it's pretty entry level part but. I tried but nobody gains on including recent ones like -- rep and I have reasonably playable results which is not -- you're likely to get on them most other ultra books. He also gets out backlit keyboard very important in a slim travel laptop these days. I think click pad that's similar to the ones we've seen on earlier is -- iBook laptops from assumes. But it's really not a strong point here they actually sent over last minute drive for update to the -- -- -- needed a little bit better more usable. I think it's still not gonna get that anything really like the responsiveness and in snappy feel that you get from Apple and their MacBook touch pads. I think that's an area -- really all of the ultra books need to put in some extra effort in order to catch up. -- you do get multiple USB three point oh ports which is great and even multiple video ports as mini display port and HDMI built in -- -- add the external dongle for VGA. So anything you want to connect this to you pretty much can't even the battery life is pretty decent north of five hours -- here's the catch. You're gonna pay a little bit more for all these features this -- 1299. Which is maybe not a lot compared to a MacBook Air but it is a lot more expensive than most other ultra books. But if you need all -- extra features and you still want something that's relatively slim and light and portable. I've been I think you're gonna find this is a fairly compromised free example of an ultra book I'm Dan Ackerman and that is the Asus is -- -- -- X 32 DB.

Apple's highest-end 27-inch iMac gets a welcome CPU and graphics card update that, along with its giant display, makes it even more competitive than its best-in-class model was previously. Asus Zenbook UX32VD Review
The good: The Asus Zenbook UX32VD has features usually missing from ultrabooks, including a 1080p display and Nvidia GPU.
The bad: The UX32VD is expensive, it's thicker and heavier than most ultrabooks, and it has a less-than-stellar touch pad.
The bottom line: With a Core i7 CPU, discrete graphics, and a full HD screen, the Asus Zenbook UX23VD is pretty close to being the ultrabook that has it all, but you'll pay for all those features.
