>> Brian Tong: What's up? Brian Tong here, and we're back from CES 2010 with all the good and bad inside the world of Apple because trust me, it's really not that easy to get rid of us. Now, there's been plenty of Tablet news over the past two weeks so let's get everyone up to speed with some of the latest details and rumors that you may or may not know. Now, the boy genius reports recent source claims the latest Tablet slated to be announced by Apple on January 27th, you like how I did that, is an iPhone on steroids. Runs on the iPhone portal with multi-touch gestures that are out of control powered by a ridiculously fast arm processor believed to be developed by PA Semi, who Apple acquired two years ago. We've also heard talk about a front-facing camera, but Jerry Fireball's John Gruber says for what it's worth, I'm hearing there is no camera, webcam, or otherwise on the Tablet. Now, Reuters reported the Apple Tablet will have an aluminum casing which will start production in February pointing to a second-quarter launch for the product. TG Daily reported rumors from CES 2010 that Apple has pre-ordered all 10.1-inch LCD and OLED screens from Asian suppliers making them non-existent for other companies. There have been a few instances in the past where flash memory was in short supply when Apple was ramping up for iPhone production. So this follows that trend. We also haven't seen any recent iPhone OS builds because it's believed there's too much Tablet-related code and references in the OS. So the big "A" is holding back to prevent any leaks. Now, we know it's easy to get caught up with all the rumors. So what can you really believe about the impending Tablet that casts a shadow over CES? Absolutely nothing until Apple tells us on January 27th, which reminds me, I don't have an invite yet. Maybe it's because they've seen this show. [laughs] OK. Well, now the Apple Tablet can't be stealing all the rumor headlines. The "Korea Times" claims the next-gen iPhone will have an OLED screen, video-chat capabilities, and a removal battery with dual-port processors, more powerful graphics, and a better camera. Apple Insider recently reported that Apple starting purchasing significant quantities of LED camera flash components. So a better camera and image quality makes sense, but I'm going to file this under sounds way too good to be true because in the tech world, start a rumor, get your name in the news, and it seems to work. >> Brian Tong: So, maybe that didn't work out the way I wanted, but you got the idea. Alright. Let's check out a few quick bytes. The "San Jose Mercury News" reports Apple is planning to build a new prototype retail store in Palo Alto. It's design is proposed to be transparent at ground level with skylights above for natural light and trees growing inside. The idea is that the street or sidewalk is part of the store's interior so a person is already in the store before even entering it. It's kind of, like, hey, you know, I'm walking down the street. What a, what a great day. The sun is out. Oh, my God, I'm in an Apple store. It's the future of retail. Just trick them into the store.
