>> Hey I'm Donald Bell, Senior Editor for Digital Audio and MP3 and today we're taking a First Look at the new iPod Touch. This is version 2.0 of the iPod Touch hardware. The actual firmware on here version 2.1 is available for both the new iPod Touch and the higher version of the iPod Touch. The new improvements of the hardware include a rocker switch, a volume rocker switch on the side. There's now a built-in speaker in the iPod Touch. The metal backing now wraps completely around to the front of the iPod Touch doing a nice seamless bezel on the front. It looks a lot nicer. It feels -- even though it's technically thinner, it feels a lot more substantial, a lot more sturdy than the first generation of the iPod Touch. Now the features of the 2.1 firmware are pretty much the same features you will find in the original iPod firmware. The only real change is that there's now an enhanced Genius Playlist creation feature that lets you make a playlist instantly based on any artist that you pick. It will pick another 25 songs from your collection that have a similar musical attributes. Other than that you still got a beautiful video and photo playback, Wi-Fi Internet access with the Safari Browser, and so a really solid product -- has come down in price now. You can get the 8-gigabyte version of the iPod Touch for $229, 16-gigabyte for $299 and a 32-gigabyte version for $399. I'm Donald Bell and that was a First Look at the iPod Touch 2.0. ^M00:01:32 [ Music ]
