>> By now, you heard of Apple iPad Tablet and probably know that it will be released this weekend in Apple and Best Buy stores around the country. But is it really a game changer in the world of technology or is it just a giant iPod touch? Let's have a look. The iPad Tablet can do many things, such as browse the web faster than a typical netbook, email, play games, show photos and slide shows, play high-resolution videos, and it let's you read books electronically. This is one and a half pounds which is lighter and thinner than any netbook or laptop, and the screen is just under 10 inches so it is easy to carry around. And what about the apps? Apple says that 150,000 apps will run on the iPad. Those are the same apps that you can already find on the iPod Touch and the iPhone. There are also 1,000 applications that are specifically designed for the iPad such as our own technology review site cnet.com. The iPad that goes on sale this week is a WiFi only device, that means, to get online, you'll need a wireless connection. In a few weeks, Apple will release a 3D version that will work on AT&T Cellular Networks so that you can get online on the go. So what does the iPad not have? Well, there is no camera, there's no phone features, and there's no keyboard. So bottom line, this is probably more of a device that you want rather than a device that you need. And we don't expect that it will replace your computer or your phone yet. For CVS News, I'm Natalie DeCante, cnet.com in New York.
