I'm David Carnoy and I'm here with the new Amazon Kindle DE XE reader. I -- give you a very quick tour of it because it is virtually identical to its predecessor. But as you can see it -- a graphite colored finish it also comes with four gigabytes of memory that's double the amount of memory. And it has a higher contrast screen. Amazon says it offers 50% more contrast and what that means is that the letters are a little bit darker. And just pop out a little bit more and we did notice that in review -- comparing it to the older Kindle model now -- to -- looking at this Kindle which is a nine point seven inch screen. -- the iPad this was a little bit cheaper now plus 379 dollars. To the iPad which starts out it 500 dollars. But the main advantage of this is that. -- the iPad which hasn't LCD screen it gets washed out when you're outside. But really up from a feature standpoint this Kindle can't compete with the iPad it does have a rudimentary browser you browse. -- -- three G this model doesn't have Wi-Fi. Like the new. Smaller Kindle. And it has a built in sealed in battery. That offers around two weeks of battery life which is pretty good for device this size. At the end of the day this product still has its work cut out for against the -- patty is somewhat cheaper and it does make sense for those folks who want a larger screen. It also makes sense for people who want to -- PDF files. Though it's not quite as good PDF reader as the iPad with all its color and -- processing power but at least Amazon has taken steps to improve -- product. And reduce the price so it does have a fighting chance against the iPad. I'm David Carnoy and -- Amazon Kindle DX.

The Nintendo 3DS will have a price and release date in two months, YouTube may change user video uploads to 15 minutes, and Amazon releases a new version of its Kindle e-reader.
While there's no compelling reason to buy it over the Kindle Touch, the Sony Reader Wi-Fi is a very solid e-reader.
Amazon Kindle DX Review
The good: Large-screen e-book reader with improved, higher contrast e-ink screen; large library of hundreds of thousands of e-books, newspapers, and blogs via Amazon's familiar online store; free 3G wireless access; can store up to 3,500 books; eight fonts available, including two new extra-large sizes; decent battery life; displays image files, PDFs, and plays MP3 and AAC audio.
The bad: Though it's more affordable than the previous DX model, the price is still within spitting distance of the more versatile iPad; heavier weight (than smaller Kindle) could make long reading sessions tiresome; doesn't support EPUB files; no protective carrying case included; battery is sealed into the device and isn't removable; no Wi-Fi option.
The bottom line: Though it has a hard time competing with Apple's iPad in terms of functionality, the less-expensive 2010 Kindle DX will appeal to those looking for a large, dedicated e-reader with an e-ink display.
