>> Hey everyone, I'm Jeff Bakalar with yet another quick tip using QuickSilver. So, let's say you like to keep a lot of lists. I keep my To Do List on a simple txt file located on my desktop. But rather than looking for the file and then opening up a text editor program, I can actually just use QuickSilver to open the small text message at the bottom of a text file. Here's how you do it. First, you're gonna launch QuickSilver by pressing control-space. Then, go to Preferences and select the Plug-ins Tip and under all Plug-ins, scroll down to the text manipulation and check the box next to it. Then, you're gonna close out of Preferences. This will allow QuickSilver to manipulate text files on your computer. Start the QuickSilver prompt again by pressing control-space then hit the period key on your keyboard. This puts QuickSilver into text entry mode. Now, there are a lot of really incredible powerful things that you can do with this, but for now we're just going to add a simple line of text to a file. So for now, I'm just gonna type in my message, press tab and then the first few letters of the action you wanna perform. In this case, you're gonna type up hand. Press tab again and now you're gonna have to set a destination. I type in the name of my To Do List and hit Enter. Now if I open up the file, I can see that I've edited a new line of text to the text file. I'm Jeff Bakalar and this has been another quick tip using QuickSilver. Thanks for watching. [ Music ]
