Acer Iconia Tab A700 fails to compensate for its screen resolution Video Transcript
This is the Acer Iconia tab a 700. Not -- eight by ten. But I wouldn't blame you if you got -- competes physically they're virtually the same aside from one key difference. I'm Eric Franklin and -- -- -- take a first look at the Acer Iconia tab a 700. 700 is the physical twin of the eight by ten. Has the same micro HDMI port micro SD ports supporting up to 64 gigabyte size expansion cards. A one megapixel front camera and a five megapixel back camera. It also has a volume rocker rotation lock headphone Jack. Micro USB port and dual speakers. All located in the same places you get the same -- backside making it comfortable to hold. But the eighth -- a hundred is slightly bigger but most won't even notice a difference. So as I mentioned before there's one key difference here. While the -- 510 has the usual 1280 by 800 resolution screen BA 700 has a high -- 1920 by 12100 pixel screen. With that you get much sharper text on the web and -- reading ebooks also benefit certain games like rip -- GP but games like Max -- mobile. Don't get any noticeable benefit. Compared to the Asus infinity which also has a 1920 by twelve -- resolution screen. The -- 700 screen has a more narrow viewing angle less accurate color. And they less dramatic contrast. While the infinity how they one point six gigahertz tegra three CPU and faster DDR three ram to compensate for the extra pixels the -- -- a hundred uses the same one point three gigahertz processor. And DDR two ram found an eight -- ten. Unfortunately this results in a sluggish feel when navigating and a lower frame rate in games when running at Max resolution. 1080. Although they don't look any sharper than what you'd expect. Some of the -- so infinity coming next month what's the appeal here. Well -- -- fifty dollars and 8700 is currently a bit cheaper and supports higher storage expansion. Also ships with Android four point oh point four which honestly. Doesn't feel any different from four point 03 on the Infiniti. As far as advantages over the infinity depth of all I can see. Acer should have made sure the 8510 can handle -- higher resolution before slept in a new screen is sort of called -- the a 700. Set up a full review to get my complete impressions. Once again I'm Eric Franklin and this has been a first look at the Acer Iconia tab a 700.

Acer Iconia Tab A700 Review
The good: The Acer Iconia Tab A700's high-res screen sharpens text and graphics to near-iPad Retina levels. Also, it's comfortable to hold and includes both Micro-HDMI and microSD.
The bad: The base version of the Tegra 3 can't keep up with the high-res display, resulting in frequent hangs and stutters while navigating. The cameras are unimpressive.
The bottom line: The Acer Iconia Tab A700 overreaches with its high-res screen and is ultimately outclassed by tablets that offer better experiences for the money.
