Acer Iconia Tab A100 Video Transcript
Hey, guys. This is a tablet. Not an oversized smartphone. I know it can be confusing but that's what the 7-inch tablet market is to me sometimes confusing. That doesn't mean however that there aren't users out there interested in tablets but think 9 or 10 inch tablets are too big and that their smartphones aren't big enough. Well, there's probably some free in discussion just waiting to happen here but only if we have time to dealt too deeply into that. Luckily, I do have time to take a first look at the Acer Iconia Tab A100. This is Acer's followup to the A500 release a few a months ago. It looks kind of like a smaller version of that tablet. It, of course, has a 7-inch display. But, unlike IPS screens of most Honeycomb tablets, this one [unk] and display and as a result has a narrower view in angle than what we're used too. At the bottom of the tablet here are its speakers, Micro-HDMI port, and Micro-USB. On the other side is the volume rocker and lock switch which keeps the screen from rotating. There's also a headphone jack next to the power button and microphone pinhole with a microSD card slot on the other side. On the front bezel is a hardware home button and on the other end is a 2-megapixel camera. On the back is a 5-megapixel camera and flash bulb. The A100's dimensions are about the same as HTC's 7-incher and like most 7-inchers, it doesn't really fit into your pocket. The tablet runs a slightly altered version of Honeycomb that includes Acer's clear [unk] media aggregator and a few unique setting options like setting the screen to never time out. The 16GB version of the A100 is available for $350. But, the 8GB version is available around $330. Check out our full review for more information. I'm Eric Franklin and once again, this has been a first look at the Acer Iconia Tab A100.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 (8GB) Review
The good: The 7-inch Acer Iconia Tab A100 provides a full Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) experience and its price is lower than those of some of the best 7-inch tablets out there. Its HDMI-out, hardware screen lock, and expandable memory options are welcome extras.
The bad: The tablet screen's viewing angle is narrow and the battery drains quickly. Also, you could get a 10-inch tablet for less than $100 more.
The bottom line: The Acer Iconia Tab A100 offers a full Android 4.0 experience on a 7-inch tablet and can now be found at a very affordable price.
