>> Hi, I'm Rich Brown, Senior Editor for CNET.com. Today we're gonna talk about the Acer Aspire L310. As you can see, this is a pretty small computer. There are definitely others like it on the market but it continues the trend of packing a relatively powerful system into a small package. Now inside the system you'll find an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1 gig of memory and a pretty sizable hard drive. We wouldn't really recommend it for gaming or heavy duty media editing type stuff, but it's a decent enough computer and should get you through pretty much whatever you want. The one little hitch is Windows Vista. Because it has an integrated graphics chip, it really won't do the high end Windows Vista visuals. Now because of the small form factor of this system, you might be tempted to stick it in your living room and actually you can take off this bottom piece here and stick it down on it's side to lie flat. But it's really not powerful enough to be a true home theater desktop. Now the front of the system you'll see a DVD burner and behind this little door you'll see a media card reader. It's a pretty convenient way to swap files between digital cameras and other mobile devices. And on the back of the system you'll see a connection for a wireless networking antenna as well as a DVI out. One feature you won't see though is an input for a cable TV signal. The system doesn't have the TV tuner which we've actually seen in small systems of this kind. So that seems to be a feature that Acer left out. Now this is not the most future rich system we've seen in this form factor. Apple's Mac Mini and a couple systems from other vendors have more exciting things going on. And HP actually has a small system that can take a full size graphics card, giving it much more flexibility. Still, you can get this system for under 1000 dollars and as a basic Vista computer that won't take up a lot of space, it's not half bad. So I'm Rich Brown and that's the Acer Aspire L310. ^M00:01:36 [ music ]

Acer Aspire X1200-U1520A

The Acer Aspire X1200-U1520A is a speedy, compact, low-end desktop that's powerful enough to serve as a light-duty home theater PC. Expansion is limited by an especially cramped interior (even for a small PC), but the total package is worthwhile for PC shoppers on a budget.

Acer Aspire X1700-U3700A

The Acer X1700-U3700A is slightly slower than the competition, but it gives you almost every component you need in either a basic desktop or a light-duty home theater PC.

Acer Aspire EasyStore H340-UA230N NAS server

The Acer Aspire EasyStore H340 is an affordable and flexible NAS solution for both homes and small businesses that don't require advanced features from their networks.

Acer Aspire Predator

You'll probably decide pretty quickly whether you like the Acer Aspire Predator's looks. Those in favor will also find a higher-end gaming PC with reasonably fast performance and plenty of room to expand and upgrade. Not everyone will appreciate the Predator's visual charms, but we recommend this PC to those who do.

Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H

Acer's Aspire Revo 1600 might be the first Nettop we don't actively dislike. We'd rather have an Xbox 360 in the living room, but the Aspire Revo 1600 would be suitable as a PC for young kids or as a low-profile cloud kiosk. Thanks to its $199 price tag, you won't feel too much remorse if it breaks or you outgrow it.

Acer Aspire AS5742G-7200

On a price-to-performance basis, the Acer Aspire 5742G-7200 is one of the better laptop buys on the market, as long as you don't mind specs in a plain box.

One For All Kameleon 6 Hybrid

The affordable Kameleon 6 Hybrid will handle light home-theater duties, but advanced users will want to spend more to get more.

Acer's high-end all-in-one can't justify its cost

It doesn't have the whole package yet, but Acer shows some elite PC-making potential in the Aspire 7600U all-in-one.

Acer Aspire 5700

Acer's Aspire Z5700 is a fast, media-friendly all-in-one that would serve well as a media hub in a dorm or a den. We'd like to see a bit more polish in its design, and a Blu-ray drive would make it a home run, but on balance we can recommend this system for its speed, its large screen, and its digital media versatility.

Acer Aspire 5000

The unexciting yet inexpensive Acer Aspire 5000 is a decent desktop-replacement laptop for basic home and small business use.
