What is the most influential tech product in your life?
It would have to be my Win-PVR Hauppauge PCI card for MCE on my Vista Home Premium machine.

Most influential tech for me?

Well, I was going to go with the Eye-TV that I have plugged into my Mac
Mini. But I didn't want to give the same reason as rich as to why DVR is so
great and convenient (Note: I don't need to wait till december to watch all of
season 3 of Lost.) But I will have to say that my most influential tech
product as to be (besides my Mac) ::drum roll:: my wireless N-router. It is
so nice to be able to walk all over my house, and have a strong internet
connection. Even when I am sitting on the patio, a good 100ft away from
the station, my signal is still strong. And now that I have both a laptop and
a Mac Mini, I can either sit in my room and enjoy a fantastic connection or I
can go outside and check my email and actually enjoy the few summer
months in Buffalo.

Flat panel displays and BlackBerrys

Whether television or computer monitors, Reclaiming all that lost space that CRTs once hogged up has certainly reduced the volume and footprint that these product types used to consume, so yeah, I'd say it qualifies as being one of the most influential aspects for me.

As for something on the Dark Side, it has to be nonstop connectivity--whether I want it or not. Beyond all of my previous cellphones, my BlackBerry has been perhaps TOO influential on my life.

Windows 95. It revolutionized the personal computing scene in many ways more than Windows 3.1 did. Nothing will ever challenge Win95's influence until a few decades later, or possibly the entire century.
