I have a Macbook Pro 15in and a 20 in Apple display. I set the 20 in display as my main monitor and my laptop screen as a secondary. Any application I want to see all the time (in my case TweetDeck)on I draq it to my laptop screen I set TweetDeck in spaces as active in "Every Space". Now everytime you change to a different space the changes will happen in the 20 in monitor and Tweetdeck stays put on my 15in macbook Pro screen.
hope this helps

(5 Comments)An answer to your first question "Nafid in Malta" - the spaces question. To watch a iTunes video podcasts locked down on one screen, he can stead one app to every space via system prefs. All he need to do is add iTunes to the list, choose "every space", and whenever he switches the windows for that app won't move even one pixel. I use this for IMs and Finder.
*** this does have some limitations say if he wants to watch youtube in one Safari window locked down, while having other safari window follow a certain space that won't work. It's app by app not window by window. In that case he can simply use another browser like Firefox for the you tube video in every space, and safari for the web work for a certain space.
Hope this helps!
