The kind of mobile computer referred to as a notebook or laptop has risen to become the dominant form factor, but there are so many choices. From the tiny lightweight and cheap Netbook to the large, bulky, and competent desktop replacement laptop, the options are dizzying.

So CNET's Dan Ackerman and Scott Stein put together a list of the best laptops to help narrow things down.
