What to expect at CES 2010

by Tom Merritt

CES 2010 begins in Las Vegas on Thursday, January 7, but the press releases start rolling in long before that. The Buzz Out Loud crew took some time from our daily live show to talk a bit about what we expect to see at CES.

I can't believe that the lady did not know that 3D is active shutter or polarized tech. Shet hought it was red and blue. No wonder she thinks it will be uncomfortable. Cardboard is uncomfortable. She does not tnink it will work because she does not know what it is. Somebody should have briefed her on 3D before she sat in front of thousands of viewers to discuss 3D. I am shocked. This is tech website, not teach me about tech. Anyway, I am trying to be as nice as I can be, but this shocked me.

About the 3D, some 3D technologies use polarization, some use color filters. The color filter ones do not go double imaged when you turn your head and they are more accurate in colors.

Dolby Digital ? Color Filters
RealD ? Circular Polarization
IMAX 3D ? Linear Polarization

Personally I like Dolby the best.

I think CES 2010 is about Touch Touch Touch devices & technology.

Smartphones,
PC Screens,
Notebooks
Mice with touch technology
Keyboards with Touch panels & keys

Windows 7 & Android & other Samrtphones OS will make it happen.
