Display of James Bond cars opens in the U.K. next month

In celebration of the 50th year of James Bond films, a new exhibit of James Bond vehicles is opening Jan. 17, 2012 at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, U.K.

The exhibit include 50 vehicles--both Bond- and villain-driven. Several of the vehicles, such as the Ford Mustang Mach 1 from "Diamonds Are Forever," villain Zukovsky's Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II from "The World Is Not Enough," and the vintage 1962 Rolls Royce, pushed into a lake by May Day and Zorin with Bond still inside, in "A View to a Kill,&… Read more

Friday Poll: Biggest tech turkey of 2011?

A story on CNET's top tech turkeys rounded up the 2011 technology equivalents of dropping a Thanksgiving turkey on the floor right in front of a slobbering mastiff while your in-laws look on in horror.

We've had some spectacular tech fails this year ranging from the mildly disappointing (what, no iPhone 5?) to the epic (Sony PlayStation Network hack).

Hundreds of thousands of subscribers jumped ship from Netflix after it flailed around with big price increases and the stunningly ill-thought-out Qwikster spin-off. Now Netflix's stock is taking a nosedive.

Duke Nukem Forever (finally) available in the U.S.

After more than 15 years of waiting, Duke Nukem Forever has arrived in the U.S.

"June 14 in North America will forever be celebrated as the day that the legendary Duke Nukem Forever went from video game folklore to earth-shattering reality," Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K Games, the title's publisher, said in a statement. "For 15 years, fans have waited in limbo just yearning to hear those two little lovely words strung together--now available."

Duke Nukem Forever Soundboard: Free for iOS

I can't remember the last time I looked forward to a game as much as I'm looking forward to Duke Nukem Forever. I've always loved first-person shooters, but they're all so dark and serious these days. I'm ready for some old-school fun; to kick some ass and chew some gum--and I'm all outta gum.

For whatever reason, that infamous Duke quip doesn't appear in the new Duke Nukem Forever Soundboard app for iOS. Fortunately, the app delivers more than two dozen other hilariously juvenile Duke-isms, including "Tonight you dine in hell" and "Hail to the king, baby."

Many of the others aren't suitable for reprint in a family blog, and indeed the app is rated 12+ for its mild profanity and crude humor.

Ultimately, the app is little more than a scrolling list of sound clips. But it's a fun little teaser to whet your appetite for the game, which ships in about two weeks. And it's free.

Alas, no word yet on whether we'll ever see a proper Duke Nukem Forever game for iOS. For now, you'll have to settle for Duke Nukem 3D, a port of the original PC classic.… Read more
