Hennessey building 12 1000 horsepower CTS-V Coupes

If you've been eyeing a Cadillac CTS-V Coupe but feel like 556 horsepower just isn't going to cut it, perhaps Hennessey Performance's limited-edition Caddies are more your speed. The performance turning house plans to produce a dozen 1000 horsepower Twin Turbo CTS-V Coupes next year that have been customized inside and out.

The performance-tuning house has been offering 1000 horsepower Cadillacs for a while, but setting the limited-edition CTS-V apart from other souped-up Caddies is its modified body and custom interior. Like the V1000 upgrade offered on all CTS flavors, the sports coupe will be outfitted with … Read more

Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V Wagon vs. Porsche 911 Twin Turbo (video)

Not exactly "The Tortoise and the Hare": This Web video shows a Cadillac CTS-V Wagon in a drag race with a Porsche 911 Twin Turbo

The CTS-V Wagon has been given a 650-horsepower Hennessey V650 upgrade and drag radial tires.

The upgrade includes a supercharger pulley and snout upgrade, stainless-steel long tube headers and midpipes, and a high-flow catalytic converter.

The Hennessey wagon offers 658 brake horsepower (bhp) at 6,200 rpm. And despite weighing almost 1,000 pounds more than the 911, the CTS-V Wagon bests the 480-horsepower Porsche.

Check it out for yourself.

Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition unveiled

"Black Diamond Edition" sounds more like ski equipment than a car, but the Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition is one hot-looking automobile.

The CTS-V Black Diamond Edition is available in the CTS-V Sedan, Coupe, and Wagon models for about $4,850 over the CTS-V base price.

What sets the Black Diamond Edition apart is specialized tri-coat paint from California-based JDSU. A look of diamonds in the SpectraFlair pigment in the paint is created by using aluminum flakes encapsulated in a glass-like substance called magnesium fluoride, GM said.

The exterior of the Black Diamond Edition also includes satin graphite … Read more

Is this the sexiest Cadillac ever?

Everywhere we went in the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe, we were met with turned heads and upturned thumbs. People couldn't get enough of looking at the angular coupe and, when the opportunity presented itself, asking us about it.

The CTS Coupe is a good-looking car with a profile that screams speed even when resting in a parking lot and neat touches such as handle-free doors that make this Caddy look more like a 2051 model than a 2011. We wouldn't turn down the extra performance if someone tossed us the keys to a rip-snorting CTS-V, but our tester'… Read more

One pricey wagon: The Cadillac CTS-V Wagon will start at $62,990

The wagon is back--in a big way.

General Motors is now taking orders for the CTS-V Wagon; a limited number of these beauties will be available later this year starting at $62,990.

The wagon, which debuted at the 2010 New York auto show in April, boasts a supercharged 6.2L V-8 with 556-horsepower. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.0 seconds.

It comes standard with six-speed manual, or a six-speed automatic transmission. And it has other features such as Brembo brakes and 19-inch forged-aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.

Luxury standard … Read more

Top five sports cars from Detroit

There was no shortage of sexy, sporty cars at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Here are my favorites (in somewhat of a particular order):

5. Mazda Furai concept

The race-bred concept, which means "wind" in Japanese, is based on the Courage C65 chassis, which Mazda used in the American Le Mans Series two seasons previously. It has a three-rotor rotary engine that's capable of churning out 450 horsepower. And while it looks awesome, I'd say the chance that it goes into production is pretty slim.

4. 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
