This faux cigar was just awarded "most marketable new product" at the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association trade show in Vegas. We're just as surprised, given that it's hard to believe cigar-chomping aficionados would willingly trade their Cubans or Coronas for a high-tech cigar. Particularly one that delivers puffs of "flavorful" vapor, devoid of any undertones or body.

'Baby USB Drives'? Close, but no cigar

A few years ago something like pink and blue thumb drives would have seemed pointless, but they may make sense to hand out as a substitute for traditional cigars now that stogies are being banned from the planet.

The "Baby USB Drives" from Brando could be used to announce the birth of a girl or boy in perfectly acceptable geeky fashion, with pictures of the newborn already loaded on them. (They max out at 2GB and 4GB storage sizes, so don't get too carried away.)

New devices prevent people bumming cigarettes off you

It's becoming harder for smokers to coexist with nonsmokers, what with all the nonsmoking in restaurants and bars. But if Crown7's smoke-free smoking devices catch on, a utopian society where smokers can "smoke" without pissing off everyone around them may yet exist.

The battery-powered devices use cartridges filled with nicotine, tobacco flavoring, water, and delicious propylene glycol to recreate the sensation of smoking. Instead of smoke, the "smoker" exhales a purportedly odorless vapor.
