Samsung said to debut new Galaxy Note on August 29

It's seems we're one step closer to Samsung unleashing a new Galaxy Note smartphone or tablet at the end of this month. The South Korean company reportedly told Reuters that it's debuting the next Galaxy Note product during an event on August 29.

"We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29," a Samsung spokesman reportedly told Reuters today.

Video game sales drop 10 percent in August

The video game industry's months-long slump continues, with retailers scoring their worst August sales figures in four years.

Revenue from the retail sales of games and consoles in the U.S. was $818.9 million in August, a drop of 10 percent compared with the year-ago period, according to a report released Thursday by The NPD Group. Year-to-date sales revenue was $8.37 billion, a drop of 8 percent compared with the same period for 2009, NPD said.
