Nokia: Adieu, Vertu luxury line. Hello, Scalado

Nokia has sold off its luxury mobile phone brand Vertu.

The company said today that EQT VI, a private equity group in Northern Europe, has acquired Vertu. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but after it closes at the end of the second quarter, Nokia plans to hold a 10 percent minority stake in the brand.

Back in April, Nokia was rumored to be mulling a Vertu sale. At that time, the company was reportedly being wooed by another private equity group for a deal valued at $265 million.

Time-shifting BlackBerry camera makes pictures perfect

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Cameras using BlackBerry OS 10 software will have the capability to wind back time on selected portions of photos to make sure that the image has captured all of its subjects at their best. The example used in the demonstration at BlackBerry World showed two people having their photo taken; when one of the subjects had her eyes closed in the finished shot, the photographer was able to select her face and wind back, frame by frame, to find a moment when her eyes were open. Destroy photo bombers with Remove

Remove, by Swedish imaging company Scalado, promises to remove unwanted individuals who seem to creep and crawl into our pictures. After snapping a cluster of photos through the app, you can then remove objects by partially cropping them out, leaving behind the original background.

It almost seems too good to be true to have the option to remove an errant car, person, or drunkard.
