Apple's Eddy Cue lets go of $8.76M in stock

Apple's iTunes, iCloud, and Maps chief, Eddy Cue, let go of a portion of company stock last Friday, a new filing shows.

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission this afternoon, Cue sold off 15,000 shares last week, worth just under $584 apiece on average.

The total sale was worth just less than $8.76 million.

Apple's senior hardware chief Bob Mansfield to retire

Apple's senior vice president of hardware engineering Bob Mansfield is retiring, the company said today.

Mansfield, who has been with Apple since 1999, will be replaced by Dan Riccio, Apple's current vice president of iPad hardware engineering.

"Bob has been an instrumental part of our executive team, leading the hardware engineering organization and overseeing the team that has delivered dozens of breakthrough products over the years," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement. "We are very sad to have him leave and hope he enjoys every day of his retirement."

GoogQuake: Larry Page reorg lifts top lieutenants to SVP

Google yesterday formally promoted the six executives that new CEO Larry Page has put in charge of its new business units. Sundar Pichai is now senior vice president of Chrome; Vic Gundotra is SVP of social; Andy Rubin, SVP of mobile; Salar Kamangar, SVP of YouTube and video; Alan Eustace, SVP of search; and Susan Wojcicki, SVP of ads.

A spokesperson for Google confirmed the reorganization and called it a formalization of what had been anticipated since earlier this year when Page started rethinking and taking over Google's business.
