Nokia adds three phones to lineup

Nokia announced Sunday night it has three new phones on the way--one for play, one for work and one for looks. The Nokia 6267, 3500 classic and 6121 classic are expected to become available in the third quarter of this year.

The 6267 is a multimedia phone with dedicated media keys designed to make it easier to sort through and access music, photos and video. It comes with 4GB of expandable memory. A flip phone, it sports two cameras, according to the company, including one 2-megapixel camera with 8X digital zoom. The 3G phone allows users to browse the Web, … Read more

Sprint Mogul by HTC officially unveiled

Man, if I were a Sprint or Verizon Wireless customer, I wouldn't be the happiest camper in the world. After all, the CDMA faithful have had to sit back and watch for the past few months, while their GSM counterparts at T-Mobile and AT&T got one new smart phone after another. Yet, things are starting to look up--for Sprint subscribers, anyway. Today, the carrier announced the Sprint Mogul by HTC, the long-awaited successor to the Sprint PPC-6700. It sports a thinner design, Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition, a better camera, and more memory. Yet, we have some … Read more

Moto Madness: Z3, Z6, or Z8?

If you're into Moto Rizrs, as I am, you know you can buy the Z3--but you're anxiously awaiting the Z8.

But don't ignore the third in this series, the Z6. With a great feel, a solid slide, and even a separate MP3 button, this cell phone has "winner" stamped all over it.

The chrome casing is eye-catching and good-feeling (the rubberized Z3 drops a notch there) and talk time has been around five to six hours for me, with excellent reception. Browser connection is almost instantaneous. It also takes a 2GB microSD card, so you … Read more

Sony Ericsson releases plenty of accessories

Not content to rest easy after its announcement of a slew of new cell phones and a Bluetooth watch, Sony Ericsson has also announced several new accessories as well. They are all music-related in some way or another, starting off with the MDS-65 Music Desk Stand, which acts as a portable speaker of sorts for your Sony Walkman phone, and the MMR-70 FM transmitter for playing music on a nearby FM radio.

And what's a cell phone accessory announcement without a few headsets? The HBH-DS200 is the only stereo Bluetooth headset in the group, and it has a few … Read more

Slide show: iPhone glamour shots

Every day, Apple appears to add more iPhone tidbits to its Web site. Last week, we dissected the new iPhone commercials and tutorials, but this week, we're bringing you some simple iPhone eye candy. As we inch toward the release date on June 29, Apple releases more images that detail the handset's various functions. So to save you the trouble of looking for them on your own, we've assembled the shots here in our iPhone slide show.

Sony Ericsson slide show

Sony Ericsson today took the wraps off six new cell phones and three Bluetooth watches. The phones include two Walkman models, a Cyber-shot model for the North American market (yay!), a 3G handset for our European friends, a mid-range camera phone, and a basic mobile phone.

The three Bluetooth watches put some basic cell phone controls on your wrist. You can view caller ID, reject calls, or adjust the audio volume. Check them out in our slide show.

Bluetooth on your watch

Sony Ericsson didn't just unveil new cell phones today, it also introduced three new Bluetooth watches. What's a Bluetooth watch, you ask? Quite simply, it's a watch with Bluetooth built in. And what do you use it for? Well, that's a better question.

Though "smart watches" came into vogue briefly in 2005, we haven't seen much timepiece technology since then. But Sony Ericsson decided to pump some new life into the sector with its MBY-150 series. Designed in partnership with Fossil, the three watches come in three versions: a "classic edition" … Read more

Sony Ericsson answers Apple

Sony Ericsson showed off a slew of sparkling new cell phones today including a Cyber-shot model for the North American market and a Walkman handset that could challenge the iPhone at its own game. We don't have pricing for any of the new phones just yet but they should be ready for sale in the second half of the year. See all of the phones in our slide show.

The Sony Ericsson W910 and W960 Walkman handsets are catching the most attention. They combine all the usual music features and high-end offerings of other Walkman but they raise the … Read more

Sprint launches the Motorola Deluxe ic902

Sprint has just released the Motorola Deluxe ic902, the latest in its line of PowerSource phones that combines the best of the Sprint and Nextel services. Weighing around 4.8 ounces, we wouldn't exactly call it a slim and stylish cell phone; it's more of a rugged and durable device made for industrial use. That said, the Deluxe ic902 does have quite a number of useful features. It utilizes Nextel for walkie-talkie services and Sprint for voice and data. The Deluxe ic902 is also the first to support Sprint's higher-end services like PowerVision--this means it has access … Read more

Happy hour with the iPhone

The American public will get its first chance to buy the iPhone at 6 p.m. in each local time zone, Apple confirmed Wednesday.

Somehow, I don't think Apple and AT&T will have two-for-one specials on the iPhone, but my New York-based colleagues will be the first to see how crowds react to the release of the iPhone at 6 p.m. ET. Those of us out here in California will have to wait until 6 p.m. our time for the official release of the phone, in yet another blatant example of East Coast bias.

And … Read more
