Humans are sometimes little more than vermin with sophisticated vocal cords.

Meanness and venality flow from them like mucous on a wet, windy day.

And yet, when it comes to cyberbullying, the focus has always been on kids and teens, supposedly underdeveloped members of the species.

However, a team of English researchers thought they might check to see if adults at work partook of this behavior. And lo, did they find a new low.

For they discovered that a pained 80 percent claimed they had experienced some form of online meanness within the previous six months.

iPhone 5 comes one step closer to China release

A number of hurdles must be overcome for Apple to be able to sell the iPhone 5 in China. Today, one of those barriers has been conquered and it's looking more likely that Chinese users will soon be able to get their hands on the device.

Apple reshuffles top brass: iOS chief to leave in 2013

Apple is hitting shuffle on its top management.

The company today announced that it's rejiggering its executive lineup to add extra responsibilities for some, along with the planned exit of iOS software chief Scott Forstall in 2013.

A more immediate departure is John Browett, the head of Apple's retail unit, a move that appears to be sudden given that the company says it's currently seeking a replacement.

Meanwhile, Jony Ive, Bob Mansfield, Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi will stay on with expanded roles.

Biofeedback video game helps kids control anger

Researchers at Boston Children's Hospital had the bright idea that, since kids with anger-control problems tend to resist psychotherapy but enjoy video games, the researchers should develop a game that sneakily helps kids practice emotion-control skills -- and in the process perhaps reduces the need for medication.
