QWERTY handset ZTE Aspect, available on T-Mobile

In January, T-Mobile and ZTE quietly released the entry-level T-Mobile Aspect. Suspected to be the ZTE Wombat, the device is currently available for $91.99 without a contract.

The Aspect sports a 2.4-inch QVGA screen and a candy bar construction with a four-row physical keyboard.

Powering the 3G device is a 1,000mAh battery, which has a reported talk time of 4 hours and a standby time of 250 hours (or about 10.4 days).

Dazzle your ears with KEF's X300A powered speakers

KEF's new X300A is a nifty desktop speaker, but it can also be used as a hi-fi or stereo home theater speakers. Granted, it's a bit pricey, but it sounds a lot better than say, a $699 Sonos Playbar. Cricket Wireless dials up Engage LT as next Android phone

Cricket Wireless this week announced a new Android smartphone with the Engage LT. Manufactured by ZTE, the handset is now on sale for $179.99 at the no-contract carrier.

You'd be forgiven if you thought this new model sounded similar to a current offering; it's nearly identical to the ZTE Engage announced in late 2012. In fact, it's hard to imagine how Cricket plans to position the two devices considering just how closely they resemble each other.

Back in February I first posed the question, "Do separate components sound better than AV receivers?" when I checked out the Outlaw Audio 975 surround processor and 7125 power amp and compared their sound with a Denon AVR-1912 AV receiver. The Outlaws handily trumped the receiver.
