Hyundai Genesis 2012 R-Spec gets refreshed look and 5.0-liter engine

In the Hyundai Genesis sedan's search to define itself, the 2012 refresh may be a success. First off, the 2012 Genesis has a new front fascia with reworked chrome accents, a new grille, LED daytime running headlights, and no branding.

We got to test out the new R-Spec on a hot afternoon drive last week through the Valley of Fire, about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

We stayed cool in the 111-degree weather as the R-Spec, boasting a 429-horsepower engine with 376 pound-feet of torque, carried us through the incredible red rock valley.

E3 2011: PlayStation Vita First Take

Formally unveiled at the company's E3 2011 press conference, the PlayStation Vita aims to provide the most comprehensive portable gaming experience around. We've had some time with Vita, so here's a preview of what gamers can expect before the end of 2011.

Overview Available in two models, the PS Vita will go for $250 or $300, a Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi/3G version, respectively.

Armed with a dazzling 5-inch OLED capacitive touch screen, the Vita also allows players to interact with games through a rear touch panel. Under the hood the Vita packs an ARM Cortex-A9 core (4 core) CPU and a SGX543MP4+ GPU.

Its 16:9 screen sports a 960x544-pixel resolution, which is flanked by a front-facing camera that can take 640x480-pixel photos. An identical lens is placed on the back to bring "augmented reality to a new level." Like the 3DS, iPad, and iPod Touch, the Vita will make use of motion control. Take measurements and jump the gaps: iPhone apps of the week

The iPad 2 came out today and though I've only laid eyes on it for a few seconds (Donald Bell has been running around the office taking pictures and adding to his ongoing review), I'm definitely impressed with what I've seen so far. Apparently if you're looking to get one too, you'll need to be ready for long lines at the Apple store and an even longer wait if you order online, according to Josh Lowensohn.

Several developers have already updated their applications to take advantage of the iPad 2's upgraded processing power, which can be seen in Infinity Blade, Dead Space, and a few other top-name apps. Real Racing 2 HD also landed today, and looks great on the original iPad, but I have yet to see it in all its glory on the iPad 2.

As you have probably already heard, Apple has released a few apps of its own optimized for the iPad 2, including iMovie and GarageBand. I'll be writing reviews and shooting First Look videos for these early next week, so definitely check back for more info.

The central concept behind benchmarks was historically pretty simple. What's the horsepower of some vendor's "Big Iron"? After all, most systems--the important ones, anyway--were the big boxes sitting in a data center someplace doing important stuff like booking orders or counting money.

Specs revealed: iPhone 4 has 512MB of RAM

We know Apple doesn't dwell on technical details when talking to the public, but with developers they're more willing to talk product specs.

So even though during his keynote speech Steve Jobs didn't mention the amount of RAM in the iPhone 4, during developers sessions at WWDC last week it was revealed to be 512MB.

MacRumors first reported the news after Apple uploaded videos from each of the sessions Thursday.
