Sprint's BlackBerry 7 OS handsets get priced, available on August 21?

It seems August 21 might turn out to be a pretty busy day for Sprint. Not only is the carrier releasing the Samsung Conquer 4G that day, it might be also be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and the BlackBerry Torch 9850, according to a leaked document spotted on SprintFeed. The document claimed Sprint priced the Bold 9930 at $249.99 after a rebate and a contract, while the Torch 9850 would sell for less, at $149.99 after a similar rebate and two-year contract.

TORONTO--To celebrate the announcement of the new BlackBerry OS 7 devices, RIM put on a special event for BlackBerry fans tonight to come check out the new models. Operation: Shady RAT

AT&T will release three new BlackBerry phones running the new BlackBerry OS 7, AOL launches it own daily iPad-only magazine called Editions, and McAfee in a report in Vanity Fair reveals a new major hacking attack called "Operation: Shady RAT" that has been targeting government and private industry.

AT&T doubles down on BlackBerry with three OS 7 devices

Though you can't shake a smartphone this summer without hitting someone writing a BlackBerry obituary, AT&T is not even close to attending a funeral. Today, the carrier announced that it was adding three new BlackBerry devices to its roster, starting with the BlackBerry Torch 9810 later this month. It's all very good news for worried BlackBerry fans, who could see seven new handsets from the manufacturer through the end of 2011.

Verizon accidentally reveals Bold 9930

Verizon made a bit of a boo-boo this morning and accidentally revealed the BlackBerry Bold 9930. It was unveiled in the "Explore Features" video on the product page for the BlackBerry 9650; instead of a movie of the 9650, viewers were treated to a sneak peek of the 9930 instead. That video is now no longer available, but Engadget managed to snag a rip of it.

That, along with RIM's recent news that it'll soon release OS 7, leads us to believe the Bold 9930's release is imminent.

Revealed at BlackBerry World earlier this year, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 has a 1.2GHz processor, a 2.8-inch touch screen, a super-slim profile, a larger keyboard than before, and BlackBerry 7 OS. Even though BlackBerry 7 doesn't look dramatically different from 6, the device might be sleek enough for loyal BlackBerry users to stick with RIM. What are your thoughts about the new hardware?

RIM, the picture of a top-heavy company

If Research In Motion is going to take a scalpel to its work force, it should start at the top.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 delayed?

The Boy Genius Report has reported that the latest handset from RIM, the BlackBerry Bold 9900, will be delayed until September even though the initial launch was slated for summer of this year. We've yet to hear back from RIM to confirm this, however, so stay tuned for any updates.

The Bold 9900 has a similar design to the older Bolds, but with a sleeker and thinner form factor. The display is also now a capacitive touch screen, designed to take advantage of BlackBerry OS 7 that brings support for augmented reality apps via a built-in magnetometer.

BlackBerry World is officially in full swing over in Orlando, Fla., as RIM let loose a plethora of announcements of new phones and apps.

The biggest news comes in the form of two Bold handsets and the new OS 7 operating system.
