Key Apple supplier Foxconn slows down its hiring

Apple supplier Foxconn said it is temporarily slowing down recruitment in its factories in China. The move comes amid questions about the enduring demand for the iPhone 5.

A Foxconn representative said in an e-mailed statement to CNET that the decision was "due to an unprecedented rate of return of employees following the Chinese New Year holiday compared to years past."

However, the Financial Times reported a more drastic move -- a hiring freeze -- and attributed it to fewer orders for the iPhone 5.

The HTC One has taken the pixel density crown, leaving phones like Retina iPhone 5 in the dust.

HTC believes it has one-upped its competition -- including the marquee iPhone 5 -- with its latest flagship smartphone. The HTC One features an all-aluminum construction that the company believes will set the phone apart at retail stores.

With its new flagship phone, the 4.7-inch HTC One, HTC has made the seemingly baffling choice of opting for a 4-megapixel camera, instead of an 8- or 13-megapixel unit of the kind seen on the high-end smartphones of its rivals.
