Drug cops caught playing Wii during raid

It's not easy being a drug cop.

You're constantly dealing with characters who can be less savory than mud pie. And then you discover that some of these people have vast amounts of money.

Who amongst us would not, therefore, in the midst of a raid on a suspected drug dealer's house, avail himself of the suspect's loot? Consider, for instance, the suspect's Wii.

In some highly entertaining footage from WFLA Tampa, cops appear to have been caught red-fingered by a security camera they missed in the home of Michael Difalco, an alleged drug dealer … Read more

Top 10 coolest cop cars

As much as I hate to see flashing blue lights in my rearview mirror, there's something undeniably cool about police cars that appeals to the kid in me.

However, as cool as the familiar Ford Interceptor is, I think law enforcement can do better. With that in mind, I present my top 10 (or so) coolest cop cars.

Photo recognition software

Digital Physiognomy provides users with a way to discover personality traits simply by creating their picture. While the program promises big results, several factors drag it through the mud.

The program's interface initially felt intuitive. The facial characteristic tools are easily manipulated and their results do not take any special key to decode. However, users will most likely want to read the Help file if the face they created isn't coming out right. Users will find the tools to create a face to be childishly simple to understand, which is a positive. Users can download a real picture … Read more

Police chase and shootout!

To close out this week's series of wild police videos, we got the mother of all police chase videos. This video features Omaha police in pursuit of a robbery suspect. At about the 3-minute mark, gunshots are fired from the pursued vehicle. Eventually, the suspect tries going off road to elude the cops, but it doesn't work. At about the 7-minute mark, a standoff ensues with more gunfire, and the suspect takes five bullets before police finally manage to apprehend the suspect.

Carjacker crashes not once, but twice!

Today's video blog features a carjacker who decides to run from the law anyway he can. At first, he takes a sedan from an unlucky motorist, and about a minute later, the driver crashes into a minivan on the freeway. Seeming undeterred, the carjacker runs across traffic and darts toward a pickup truck as the vehicle's driver flees in terror. Cops shooting at the truck seem not to phase this guy one bit, but soon enough he loses control of the vehicle and fishtails into another truck. Cop cars swarm then the area and make the arrest.

Today: Funny video of Scion driver attempting to outrun Omaha Police

We've seen some thrilling police chase videos this week thus far. Today, I've decided to inject a little humor into this week's blog theme by bringing you video of an indecisive driver who can't seem to make up his mind about how to escape the Omaha police.

The driver of this box on wheels goes from driving opposite of incoming traffic (yikes!), does some circling around, and at the 1:28 mark (or so), this jackass stops the car and gets out in the middle of the highway for some unfathomable reason. Eventually, the police manage … Read more

Police Chase Stretched Limo at 150 MPH!

In this second installment of some of the wildest police chase video, we go to Westchester County (just north of New York City, my old stomping grounds) where a police officer is in pursuit of a runaway limousine recklessly weaving around other vehicles and running from the law at up to 150 miles per hour. At around the 1:30 mark, the transmission blows on the limo and (this is the craziest part of the video) the driver begins running from the police IN REVERSE! Totally unbelievable driving...check it out!

This week: Awesome police chase videos!

As you probably know by now, I'm a sucker for videos full of fast cars. And as you may have noted a couple of weeks ago, I'm also a fan of the show "Jesse James is a Dead Man" on Spike TV. In a recent episode, Jesse takes his custom-modified muscle car on a chase through the desert, with the object being to see if the police can actually catch him. Apparently, real police officers from Orange County were used in performing this stunt, and sure enough, the police finally catch Jesse when his tires give … Read more

Police chief slams iPhone-driven speeders

Oh, what lack of 'appiness have the iPhone app-ers caused now?

Well, the police chief of Washington, D.C., Cathy Lanier, is rather upset that wicked, venal humans have been downloading an iPhone app that enjoys the peculiar talent of telling you where speed cameras are.

She told the Washington Examiner that this was a "cowardly tactic."

"It's designed to circumvent law enforcement--law enforcement that is designed specifically to save lives," she said.

Could anyone possibly argue? Well, perhaps.

Morality is a slope with many slips these days. Technology is moving at a pace far … Read more

Marketing agency pretends it's the police on Twitter

We've all had those ideas that seemed like good one at the time and then perhaps didn't seem so good the following morning. Or when the police got involved.

But a marketing agency in Australia reportedly decided to skip straight to the part involving the police.

Mentally Friendly (because mental friends really are the best) decided to set up a Twitter account in the name of the New South Wales police. Which was an interesting thing to do, save for the fact that an increasingly large number of people thought it really was written by the New South … Read more
