It's Oscar time! Well, it was a week ago, anyway. Tom Merritt and I have the gadgets that those celebs should have received in their goodie bags! Here are some of our favorites:Motorola Razr V3xx available in gaudy gold A gadget to improve your memory Trusty BlackBerry is there for Britney Rivets: Extreme cell phone security 3G iPhone slated for next year? When are they going to have a "Best Video Podcast" award at the Oscars? Hmmm?
Boy, do we love Lost. Today I talked with Suzy Brannon about some of the gadgets the characters from the show might have been happier to have with them. For example: A flashlight that doubles as a stun gun! Or maybe some GPS running shoes?
Too bad they didn't have the mini-submarine from last week...

This episode is very dear to my heart--mostly because I get to talk about World of Warcraft, if only for a few quick moments. It's nice to see young kids using WoW to further their educations. Also, did you know that the guy from ZZ Top was the one who made that crazy VW ball that we talked about? Who knew? Here are the fabulous links of the day:LEGO Millennium Falcon: Revenge of the brick A remote just for the kids Radix malorum est World of Warcraft This summer take a sub, hit a pub Only in Japan: The cute snowplow … Read more
Today I welcome Ryan Block, managing editor of Engadget! He shows us the Wii laptop, one of the best gaming mods I've ever seen. Then, of course, I dazzle him with yet another disco product (are there ever enough?), the Funk Fone. And you'll be dazzled blind by the Diamond Flower, a $24,000 mouse studded with, naturally, diamonds. Last but certainly not least is the Ergopod 500--a great contraption for people who need computer access while they're bedridden, but also a possible earthquake hazard. See you next week!
Don't worry, you won't smell anything unsavory when watching this video, I promise. Somehow, we're still not sick of talking about gadgets after being at CES 2007 in Las Vegas--in fact, we've returned with a whole new appreciation for the weird and random! I'm joined this week by Ariel Nuñez of Gadgettes fame. Today is my last day here in Vegas, and I still haven't even begun to see everything I wanted to! However, Rich DeMuro and I had a chance to walk around the South Hall and the Sands Convention Center to find some truly craveable gadgets. I'll be back next week with another special guest host in San Francisco. See you then!
Happy 2007, everyone! I'm hoping that you've kept your resolutions so far, but in case you haven't I've made a list of some gadgets and Web sites that might encourage you to stay on track! Veronica welcomes special guest, CNET TV host Tom Merritt to talk about their holiday wish lists. We also read some wish lists that a couple viewers sent in. In a surprise move, Veronica lays an egg. No, seriously, take a look.
Editor's note: This episode was recorded 11/27, before James Kim's absence was known.
