Consumer Reports finds Scion most reliable brand

Consumer Reports released the results of its annual car reliability survey today, and Scion came out as the top brand, with the fewest reported problems.

Scion cars proved the most reliable, according to owners contributing their experiences in the latest survey by Consumer Reports used to predict car reliability. The report, released today, compiles survey results for 28 brands. The least reliable cars, according to the survey, bear the Jaguar badge.

Along the Scion range, the xD scored the best, while the xB model was the worst, although all were well above most other brands. Lexus, another brand from Toyota, grabbed the No. 2 spot, and its CT200h model proved the most reliable, even more so than the Scion xD. Jaguar C-X16 to debut at Frankfurt auto show

Jaguar today released a sketch, but no details of its C-X16 production concept car. The C-X16 is set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on Sept. 13.

According to Jaguar, the C-X16 was designed by the same team that produced the Jaguar XJ, XF and XK.

"Great Jaguars have always been beautiful, innovative and have looked firmly to the future," said Ian Callum, Jaguar director of design, in a press release. "The finished C-X16 concept has the potential to do these things while retaining the ability to surprise, to excite and invigorate."

Jaguar building C-X75 hybrid, minus the turbines

Jaguar's C-X75 concept was the most stunning car unveiled at the 2010 Paris motor show. Along with its sleek exterior, it boasted a hybrid power train, mixing electric motors and microturbines that would make it go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Now Jaguar says it will build a limited production run of 250 vehicles.

Jaguar taps RealVNC for BlackBerry-integrated infotainment

RealVNC announced at the BlackBerry World Conference this week that it will be supplying Jaguar and Land Rover with a smartphone-integrated infotainment system.

RealVNC demonstrated the Connect and View system using a BlackBerry smartphone connected to a RealVNC Connect and View infotainment system connected to a BlackBerry smartphone in a Jaguar XJ head unit. When linked with a BlackBerry device, Connect and View uses Terminal Mode to replicate music and navigation applications on the car's in-dash screen.
