Jabra Wave available from Verizon stores

Jabra recently released the Jabra Wave, an over-the-ear headset that promises to be comfortable and easy to wear. Though it might look a little Borg-like, Jabra claims it's lightweight. As for features, it boasts three-layer wind noise reduction, multipoint technology, and a Voice Guidance system.

Jabra also says it supports Jabra's World of Apps portal, which lets you find voice-enabled apps to use with the headset. The Wave will be available in red, black, and there'll also be a corded version. Verizon Wireless stores will get them first in November, though we don't know pricing yet. … Read more

Survey finds sex and texting behind the wheel

What are you guilty of doing behind the wheel?

According to a survey sponsored by Jabra, a headset and in-car speakerphone innovator, despite technology to help keep both hands on the wheel, people are choosing to use their hands elsewhere while driving.

The most common behind-the-wheel activities include texting, eating, changing clothes, operating GPS systems, yelling at other drivers, and even performing sexual acts. Only 32 percent of the survey respondents reported they're using a hands-free device, Jabra announced in a press release.

Jabra introduces Clipper stereo headset

At last, Jabra saw fit to come up with an upgrade to the Jabra BT3030 stereo Bluetooth headset with the Jabra Clipper. Like its predecessor, the Clipper is in the style of a pendant with all the controls on the unit itself. It also has a 3.5mm headset jack so you can use your own headphones (yay!).

Jabra takes it to the Extreme

LAS VEGAS--Jabra announced a brand-new Bluetooth headset at CES 2010, dubbed the Jabra Extreme. It's named after Jabra's new noise-canceling technology called Noise Blackout Extreme, and it has dual microphone noise cancellation, automatic volume control, background noise reduction, acoustic shock protection, and an overall improvement in call quality.

The Extreme also features multipoint technology, A2DP music streaming, and new "ultimate-fit" ear gels that promise long-lasting comfort. It has a talk time of 5.5 hours. The Extreme will launch this month at Best Buy and BestBuy.com for $79.

Jabra Halo makes its debut

I was quite impressed with the Jabra Halo stereo Bluetooth headset when I first saw it at CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas. It looked thin and lightweight, and promised to be the first wireless stereo headset with dual-microphone noise cancellation. Indeed, it was our cream of the crop nominee for best accessory at the show.

Jabra introduces stereo Bluetooth headset, speakerphone

Jabra introduced two new devices today at CTIA 2009, and neither of them are traditional mono-Bluetooth headsets. They are the Jabra HALO stereo headset and the Jabra SP200 speakerphone.

The Jabra HALO stereo headset uses stereo Bluetooth or A2DP to stream music wirelessly from a stereo Bluetooth-compatible handset or MP3 player. It also has a wired option if your device only has a 3.5-mm headset jack and no Bluetooth. When one headset just isn't enough

Another case of life imitating art. Jabra has made a reality out of the cliched scene depicting a harried broker with a phone receiver in each ear.

Having long prided itself for its multitasking abilities, Jabra is once again showing off that prowess with its M5390--which allows for the use of two headsets simultaneously. Jabra BT4010 has a LCD display

Jabra has just announced the Jabra BT4010, which is the latest Bluetooth headset with a LCD display to hit the market. Sometimes we like headsets with displays, since it can help in displaying caller ID, but the BT4010's screen is so small, it looks as if it can only show battery and pairing status. We'll have to wait until we get more information about it to know for sure.
