Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus now available at Amazon

Samsung's new Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has hit U.S. shores ahead of schedule, at least among some of the larger retailers.

Amazon is now selling the new 16 gigabyte 7-inch Tab with a note that the tablet is in stock and available with the usual one-day shipping option.

But when Samsung announced the new Tab 7.0 Plus at the end of September, it said the tablet wouldn't reach U.S. consumers until November 13.

The latest version of Google's Android operating system for tablets is official, which means the update will likely be arriving on a range of tablets in the near future.

Motorola has already begun to roll out the update on its Xoom tablet, the company confirmed with CNET on Wednesday. Other tablet candidates for a 3.2 rollout include Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1, Acer's Iconia Tab 500, and Toshiba's Thrive.

Huawei last month announced what it claims is the "world's first" 7-inch Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet to pack a dual-core processor.

Android 3.2 rolling out on Xoom, Motorola says

Motorola is beginning to roll out Android Honeycomb 3.2 for its Xoom tablet. The Google update includes a couple of key enhancements that will also roll out to other Android tablets in the near future.

"Google has started rolling out Android 3.2, in phases, to Motorola Xoom users," a Motorola representative confirmed for CNET today.

The update will introduce a new viewing mode, referred to as "zoom to fill," and fully enable SD card slots. Motorola will be the first tablet vendor to get this update, according to Richard Shim, an analyst at DisplaySearch.… Read more
