'60 Minutes': Electric sedan Video Transcript

>> For the Sedan, we're designing a fast swap capability.

>> You are?

>> Yeah. So the battery pack is full-mounted. We trapped-out and switched-out in probably less time than it takes to fill your gas tank. So hey, you know, if you can swap out the laptop battery pack, why not a car battery pack. You need a piece of equipment to build all these because its heavy, but you just need something that's like a big version of your hand.

>> Tell us about the Sedan, you said, you thought it would cost 60,000?

>> Yeah.

>> Do you think the prices are gonna go up the way the price on this one, on the Roadster went up?

>> It's possible. I mean, I can't discount that possibility, but we certainly gonna work very hard to ensure that the price doesn't go up. And we'll see.

>> And when are you expecting that we'll see the Sedan that we'll be able to test drive the Sedan?

>> I expect us to unveil the Sedan no later than early next year. ^M00:00:54 [ Clock ticking ]
