The 404 Podcast 491: Where we're all cast in new roles for 2010 Video
Kenley Bradstreet joins to show to fill in Justin's shoes, after he has an unfortunate accident with a missing bike seat. On today's show, Jeff rants about Digg's new ads while he gets new Hoboken Twitter followers. Wilson doesn't feel too hot about James Cameron's new movie "Avatar." Violet Blue starts her own URL shortner. And Kenley brings us a story about a murderous Brazilian talk show host. Yes, it is yet another episode of The 404.
Our little Dialed In family is back together once again. After enduring some technical difficulties and travel nightmares, Kent and I are back from Barcelona to join Nicole in the studio where we reflect on all the news from Mobile World Congress 2010. If there's one takeaway from the show, it's that software will play a primary role in this year's smartphones, while hardware will take a backseat. In other news, AT&T is finally getting its first Android phone and Sprint's WiMax devices are coming but not as early as some say. All this plus the latest cell phone reviews on this week's episode of Dialed In.
On today's episode of The 404 Podcast, hosts Jeff Bakalar and Wilson Tang welcome Justin Yu back into the studio. He chats up his skydiving adventure and life on the West coast, and the crew also discusses the usual stories from the Internet including Paul the Octopus predicting the entire World Cup, the recent never-ending heat wave, and a Japanese senior citizen arrested for hitting a student who wouldn't give up his seat on the bus.
Back in April of 2008 BJ (before Justin), motivational speaker James Arthur Ray guest-hosted The 404 Podcast and Jeff, Wilson, and Randall spoke to him about how to grow your own meat--no lie. Anyway, the show left a sour taste in The 404's collective mouth, and more than a year later it turns out that Mr. Ray is a big phony, not unlike Balloon Boy Sr.
After yesterday's much-lauded episode with Jill Schlesinger, Jeff, Justin, and Wilson are back to classic 404 goodness today. We're glad that for once in the world we can offer some helpful financial advice. And yes, we're still offering 404k options, so please send your checks to the show.
If you're curious about the strange world of renaissance faires, tune into today's episode of The 404 Podcast with hosts Jeff Bakalar, Wilson Tang, and Justin Yu!
We all watched NASA's final space shuttle launch this morning before heading into the studio, and by "we" I mean Wilson and me, because as usual, Jeff couldn't care less. Nevertheless, we're still excited about Atlantis and spend part of the first half of the show watching videos and talking about the official Atlantis fanfare written by Emmy-nominated composer Bear McCreary and produced by actor Seth Green!
On today's episode of The 404 Podcast, hosts Jeff Bakalar, Wilson G. Tang, and Justin Yu are proud to welcome comedian Michael Showalter into the studio. He joins us to chat about his new "making of" four-part Web series on Babelgum, the Wet Hot American Summer musical, and answers questions from the chatroom!
Barack, Do you really want everyone to know where you are? In the Googorola aftermath, Microsoft was reportedly one of the comapnies in negotiations with Motorola. And the best way to kill an iPad 3 rumor, is to squash it with another rumor that you made up. Plus, Wilson Tang of the 404 joins us in studio.
On today's episode of The 404 Podcast, hosts Jeff Bakalar, Wilson G. Tang, and Justin Yu discuss Hulu Plus and the Hulu Plus App, parental earnings from the David at the Dentist YouTube video, and a guy playing XBox 360 at a local Starbucks!
