The 404 458: Where daylight comes and we want to go home Video
The Sleep Doctor is back in the building and we've been hoarding questions for his return. Today we'll talk to him about why Daylight Saving Time causes spikes in heart attacks, pro tips on what to pack in your airplane sleep kit, the best white noise and sleep-tracking apps for your smartphone, and why there are no shortcuts to a good night's rest.
Jeff is taking the week off to get a head start on Thanksgiving, so Wilson and I invite Mark to help us out on today's episode of The 404 Podcast. After spending a couple days out of the office last week, it feels great to get back in front of the mic. It's no fun being home with the flu, but it did give me an opportunity to check out Twilight. No, not The Twilight Saga: New Moon, I meant the first one, which I never bothered to watch in theaters. I'm glad I didn't spend $12 to watch it, too! Get all the details plus a sneak peek at the new movie in theaters now. Wilson also checked out Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey's new movie, "Precious." The movie also features Mariah Carey and Mo'Nique, who's up for an Academy Award nomination for her performance as Precious' abusive mother.
Fair warning: reading the title of today's show should be an easy goal to achieve, but this morning's 404 Podcast preshow had us all so shaken up we skipped the entire intro altogether. Three grown men squealing about creepy crawlers is a pathetic sight to see, but luckily Mark Licea hops into the studio and gently ushers us back into adulthood.
RIP Holo-Pac. 2Pac fans hoping for a worldwide holographic tour are out of luck as its parent company Digital Domain ironically filed for bankruptcy on the 16th anniversary of the artist's death. Mark Licea joins us on today's 404 episode to re-cap the Nintendo Wii U and TVii announcements. We'll also talk more about Apple iPhone 5 hype, the worst accessory for your smartphone, and the rise and fall of the emojicon.
Mark Licea transports us back to the 90s on today's 404 Podcast, which also happens to be our 900th episode! How appropriate that the penultimate episode would also fall on Jonathan Taylor Thomas's 30th birthday!
In case you didn't catch the preshow, today's show title is in honor of Jeff and Wilson both visiting the doctor...here's hoping they're at the same time. Before we get to the show, be sure to head out for your free tacos from Taco Bell, then come back for another hilarious Friday episode of CNET's The 404 Podcast.
In Jeff's absence, Wilson takes the reigns as chief engineer for the show...and runs it in to the ground. Just kidding! Today we invite host of The Green Show and longtime 404 friend, Mark Licea, to join us in a few stories about a handy iPhone app, traveling water bottles, Facebook jealousy, Internet addiction, and a hilarious Calls From the Public!
Mark Licea fills in for Wilson today for our typical Friday stories--Asians, vacations, video games, Apple, Kool Aid, and paper airplanes just a few things you can expect to hear on today's show!
Kenley Bradstreet and Mark Licea join the show today because Justin Yu still battling with SARS. We wish him a speedy recovery, but in the mean time, we welcome the presence of two beautiful people. Plus, it's just fun to watch Kenley rock out to today's Audio Draft pick.
Japanese pop star Leah Dizon joins the guys on today's episode of CNET's The 404 Podcast, and Mark Licea also joins the fun to talk about his personal history with the international sensation.
