The 24-Hour Power System has plenty of mobile juice Video Transcript

-Hi, this is Brian Bennett for cnet.com. And today, we're taking a First Look at the Duracell Powermat 24-Hour Power System available for $99.99. The Duracell Powermat 24-Hour Power System provides an easy though luxurious way to keep your phone and other mobile gadgets juiced up and ready for duty. The 24-Hour Power System comes in 3 main parts. First is the Powermat charger, which has 2 charging stations; one on either side. Second is the special case that enables your phone to do wireless charging. For now, the Powermat 24-Hour Power System comes with either a case for 4th generation iPhones or Samsung Galaxy S3 handsets. The third most compelling piece of the puzzle is the portable back-up battery. The battery can charge wirelessly on the map and Duracell claims it has enough power for 4 phone recharges. Also nice is that the battery has both an Apple connector and micro-USB cords to pass through power from the mat to compatible devices. Set-up is easy. Just connect the Powermat to an AC outlet and place the phone cover on your handset. Next, simply drop the phone or battery pack on to the mat. The mat plays a chime tone and turns on an LED light to let you know charging has begun. You will also feel a real magnetic tug as the device is clicked into place. The Powermat 24-Hour Power System is also lightweight and compact. What makes the product easy to travel with too is its AC adaptor that uses a cable that's easy to stow. I'm Brian Bennett and this has been a First Look at the Duracell Powermat 24-Hour Power System. Check back soon at cnet.com for a full review.

Duracell Powermat 24-Hour Power System Review

Editors' rating

The good: The Duracell Powermat 24-Hour Power System charges phones without messy wires. The light, compact kit includes a useful portable battery for power on the go.

The bad: Powermat technology is not currently built into any phones, and cases are available for only two handsets. The Power System only charges two devices at once.

The bottom line: The Duracell Powermat 24-Hour Power System is great for keeping two gadgets powered all day, but is best suited for iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S3 owners.
