2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe Video Transcript
Jaguar's F-Type convertible is still a point and look car on public streets, but now, we've got another one. Look at the rear of this guy. This is the coupe. To me, it's the perfect F-Type. Look how the haunches and the rear rake of the roofline come together in a way that you just can't do with the unfortunate amputation required of a ragtop. It also differs in more than just sheet metal. The top engine on this guy, the Supercharged V8, puts out 55 more horsepower-- 550. 0-60 happens in 4 seconds. It's just so quick, you know it's gonna be sub-4 when some real serious testing gets done. This car shares other technology with the convertible, like an 8-speed automatic, no dual clutch or a manual is available, adaptive suspension, and the same trim levels. Again, the hottest car is the R-Type. You can get into a coupe for as little as $65,000. They run in the V6 configuration, about $4,000 less than a comparable convertible. However, when you got to the full Supercharged V8, $99,000. Just about exactly 100 of a delivery charge. All expectations are the coupe will out-sale the convertible by maybe 2 to 1. So, it's a really interesting car for Jaguar in terms of volume and head room, not just halo-- despite the fact that it's starting off with a great one.
