The -- okay -- -- city's newest vehicles let's figure out what it. It's based on the C class platform -- as you can -- you never know that from the outside it's got a completely different design that really. Anything else they make -- did you think of which this. It's that who wrote compact crossovers you can see barely -- right lines. Super squared off but -- -- the rear end and so mapped almost ran out of money. Let's go to protect. We've got -- full load here so navigation and this is optional but realize that's one. The better looking systems out there and getting around that is not terribly difficult. -- find pretty intuitive. But it's also a little bit small for some reason it's hard drive based it should respond faster than this look at -- in here I can turn the knob. Take time to have a smoke come back then it's finally done what I asked it -- That's too tedious. Let's go to what's really interesting on this guy in terms of the -- activity and the navigation over here on the global icon you get to these Mercedes-Benz. Apps this is connected services through a three G radio built into the car. Not you're tethered Smartphone let's check -- here's the -- got a notice you're gonna see that screen a lot they're gonna hit retirement age watching that screen. I'm constantly wondering what's taking so long. Establishing data connection why isn't it always connected one -- waiting -- -- -- -- a -- you get three months of this -- -- three with a new or certified used Mercedes that has this ability. -- you gotta pay twenty dollars a month for embraced too which is their Smartphone app that lets you locate the car unlock the doors things like that and fourteen more dollars a month for these apps that let me show you this connection ever works. That adds up to a lot of money it will give a discount though of twenty bucks a month if you get both on top of the 280 year to have the right to get boat is back obligated. Yes is that expensive. Is that working well. Yeah. -- Mr. pageant is to get more and -- used aboard G on their phones and tablets they're gonna sit -- of this thing. Today -- gotta work on the pipeline quite the screen went black it's a good sign it's doing something by god it's gonna work. Call the folks at Guinness the records not the be here when you need that -- Okay here -- that you've got before it breaks again let's get through Google local search this is Google search related to navigation let's go for some pizza. Here's a list roughly grouped by locations here we are -- is -- diabetic college sort of soft spot -- so let's hit -- one. And what I'm -- -- several more choices like -- details on the business -- they just take me there I can haul over the Bluetooth hands free. I can get -- Google street view image looks like that nice resolution all right can go -- look at the -- radio images that users have uploaded from that. GPS location more neighborhood that business. But the only value of pandering and it was -- you get real lucky you might -- on inappropriate photo in here. Or get some really screwy this spellings that you can work -- I mean Apple's up pretty well known term these days you get one knows that it's -- Errors that could rock FaceBook on the road on the that. Now when it comes to posting to FaceBook from the car there is a -- form field you can type in whatever. And there's also a bunch of and things you can just select. Okay and operator table on this system you get am FM HD radio when their -- -- weather. Satellite radio of course. That is a multi optical disc slot. It's SD card up here music register as a hard drive space ten gigabytes available to rip CDs to USB storage. You could put -- USB stick in here that is different from media interface which connects to your iPod. Bluetooth streaming audio as well as hands free there's also a pig tail in here for an analog aux Jack that's pretty much everything I'll get this it back -- -- is not dog slow enough. You can also make it do additional duty of -- -- in the car. By adding a 500 dollar module to the vehicle. Really sharing. With a couple -- iPad in the -- to shoot me. Okay now under the -- one choice only three and a half liter V6. No turn those -- high tech direct injection in this car. That's part of how they got a lot more horsepower out of it over last year's model 34 more horses -- the 300 and -- -- 273. Foot pounds of torque. It's this morning 100 -- shoe box up to sixty in about seven and a half seconds while delivering ninety. When you buy them. -- now back to the standard rear wheel drive configuration if you go for automatic all wheel drive you shave a mere one MPG off the highway. Very small sacrifice. And efficiency technologies included -- that only runs when it needs to charge the battery if we wheels otherwise reducing drag. They've also got auto start stop -- -- guy at eagle but they -- on the console will drive that the minute. And all this goes up to a seven speed automatic it's your only choice controlled by -- that they -- -- column -- around. He -- First -- -- wanna do here is come to a stop and see on the start stop technology works as you know. I'm not a big fan of it in cars that are luxury vehicles because start stop doesn't feel like luxury makes -- Garfield -- Astride here. But come to a stop my eco modes engaged. It -- start wasn't bad though start was actually fairly quiet and quick. You can defeat start stop by turning off this eco indicator here but you gotta do -- every time -- start the car maybe they'll of the dealer program so -- -- off like BMW recently allowed. -- -- terms of power -- ability big difference between sport and this -- efficiency mode under efficiency load this guy hunts seventh gear like there's no tomorrow. Always flat footed when you need power I hate that. Sport mode is good -- -- Sergey it's still seeks a very high here. But it will -- faster and hold the revs longer when you do get into it but doesn't lead to it terribly responsive experience. It leads to a more powerful one win you finally get it to wake up. In terms of helper technologies -- who got these diamonds in the mayor's. Those turn red when you go -- -- blind spot that flash red if you signal and that harms anything goes for early departure if you drift across the line without a signal on the scars and EB three quick little -- on the steering wheel vibration -- again you can option that to be active to steer you back into the -- you should be in at least that it thinks -- -- Okay as -- increased fifty -- in the high 37000. It cannot get out of one of these less than fifteen -- what you're looking -- CNET style. And what irks me about it -- some of the packages that have something you want also bring in things you don't want to for example. Premium -- 3500 bucks sat radio and iPods but also panoramic roof and power lift gate what's the connection. Multimedia 1800 that gives you navigation better voice command hard drive for music and the rear camera. Blame tracking -- -- fifty lane departure blind spot technology but if you want those technologies to be active that goes up to 2950. Format at all wheel drive and -- -- parking -- almost another grand. And now Wi-Fi hotspots are never gonna isn't 500 snow at least there's a --

2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 4Matic Review
The good: The 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 is available with a full array of dashboard, safety, and convenience technology. The small, responsive crossover is well suited for city and highway driving.
The bad: Options can push the GLK's price remarkably high. Mercedes-Benz' Apps system is too slow and clunky to be useful.
The bottom line: Reasonably well-equipped, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 4MATIC is a solid choice as a comfortable and capable urban crossover; just don't get carried away with the options.
