>> This is supposed to be a big breakthrough moment for Hyundai. There's the Genesis Sedan, North American Car of the Year. Here's the Coupe version quite different though in the same nameplate. Let's check out the strategy. ^M00:00:21 [ Music ] ^M00:00:22

>> First of all when you go after the Lexus LS you better pack a lunch and be loaded for bare and apparently Hyundai is. When you get the tech package you'd have a generous 8-inch LCD screen. Behind that is a hard drive base media system for both navigation and your media. HD radio, of course you couldn't launch a new car today without HD radio. You've also got a Lexicon 7.1 surround sound system, pretty sporty stuff, rear view backup camera of course, XM satellite radio with live traffic Bluetooth obviously. The interior still has this Hyundai language here of this kind of U-shaped module, but they've really brought the materials up. And of course one of the big eyebrow raisers on this car is the engine, Hyundai's first V8. Good for 375 horsepower if you feed it premium, but you only get 368 out of it if you feed it regular -- that's interesting. Zero to 60 will happen in 5.7 seconds and the recipient of all that torque is a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission. ^M00:01:21 [ Music ] ^M00:01:23

>> Now the Coupe is kind of a different animal. The styling is quite distinctive. If you didn't really know you might not think it's the same nameplate Genesis as the Sedan we just saw. Also the power trains are different. The V8 is not available on the Coupe. An in-line for turbo or a V6 that it does share with the Sedan. And this one is not ready for market just yet. It will come out first half of 2009, so the pricing is not set yet. But this is a very divergent pair of cars to share a model name. Most manufactures don't really do it this way. By the way that V8 Sedan loaded up our way CNET-style about $42,000. ^M00:02:02 [ Music ]
