>> Well you know CNET Car Tech loves the new Cadillac CTS. Here is the hotter version, just about to hit the road, the CTS-V, [inaudible] Cadillac's V high performance series. What do they do? You go to a 6.2-litre, super charged V8, 550 horsepower, 550 foot-pounds. That's gonna be a lot of power in a pretty compact car. In fact, the engine's so much bigger; they had to put a bulge in the hood to fit it. Now, to control all that, of course, you've got Brembo brakes with six pistons per caliber. They've also got the magnetic ride control, which is GM's very fast-acting electro hydraulic set of dampers around all four corners. They suspend metal particles in the actual shock fluid, to put it simply, and by applying an electrical charge, they can change the viscosity and change the way each damper operates within milliseconds, as the computer picks up different road conditions. That's magnetic ride control. And of course, the interior cabin deck is really good on this car, because it carries over from the existing CTS, which we like a lot, including some interesting features like a hard drive, which is still pretty rare in most cars, and a radio station pause, kind of like a TiVo for your radio reception. Oh, and looky here. A six speed automatic with paddle shifters is gonna be available in addition to a six speed manual. So this is gonna be coming down the road for real. But let me show you another CTS that isn't quite here yet. You're gonna love it though. A Cadillac CTS Coupe Concept. Now to my eye, the CTS has always wanted to be a coupe, and here it is. Now, it's a little bit concepty. I think the whole rear quarter's a little bit higher than it would be in real production. And we've got that real clean space across the glass where there would normally be a B-pillar. It's really elegant, the way they've done that. Draw your eyes to the taillights; they've had a little bit of fun with the thinning effect to kind of recall the classic Cadillacs of the '50s. Power train-wise, they envision a 2.9-litre turbo diesel, good for over 400 foot-pounds of torque. This is could be a very cool car if it comes to market. ^M00:02:07 [ Music ]
