>> We told you about it, showed you about it, we Buzzed about it, now it's finally here for North America. This is the new BMW X6, specifically the X6 X-Drive 50i. Almost as interesting as the new body style and packaging is a new motor under the hood, a 4.4 liter twin turbo gas V8, but with advanced technology like twin turbos, direct fuel injection, and all the usual Valvetronic stuff to make this more potent than the 4.8 it is going to overshadow and replace. Zero to sixty about 5.3, pretty good for this big som'bitch. And we're looking at this being an engine is of course gonna be leaner and cleaner, and all the things that are so much a key to the Detroit Auto Show this year. The output is also interesting, 400 horsepower, 450 foot pounds. Those are really good numbers, and they go out to a new torque vectoring all-wheel drive system that doesn't just delivery torque front or rear, it can also move it left or right. So if you go left rear, guess what you're down to? Single wheel pinpoint torque control, which is almost like torque steering, or steering with the right pedal. Interesting advance in a very sophisticated all-wheel drive system. Now you want sophisticated? Come check out a hybrid. Okay, so the X6 hybrid's a concept right here behind me, but what a concept. Gas electric hybrid, but the hybrid motors on this vehicle are actually integral inside the transmission casing. And sometimes they'll do different things. You might have both giving power, you might have both regenerating power, or you might have one regenerating, and one creating power. They can split it up with a very complex logic, and they say as a result this hybrid powertrain is good not just at low speeds and off the line, but also very good at maintaining cruising speed in optimal gear ratio and RPM, and also helping during passing situations. Plus of course, the big importance is 20% increase in MPG, 20% reduction in emissions, so claims BMW when and if this guy gets through production.
