>> Well, look at this. Special wrapper BMW put on the Wall Street Journal here at the show. Diesels, loud, smokey, and let's face it, you stunk. That's still our impression of these power plants in this country. So how does this company change that? With the 335d behind me. Consider it a diesel version of the 335i, a perennial. A monster-seller in the industry. But does diesel screw it all up. Well, depends on what you're thinking about. First of all, the torque numbers will still keep some grin in the package. 425 foot pounds. That's fun. Then for the sobriety side you've got the fuel economy. About 30% better than a 335i, which gets about 17, 26. This car is going to be more like 23, 36. Those are some good numbers. Now there's no way to get around the fact that there's a premium on this car. About $3800 more than a competing 335i. So they're going to build these not for huge volume, but for huge profit and let them evangelize the way to bigger numbers. ^M00:01:02 [ Music ]
