>> Now the first thing you notice in our C30 is the style continued. It isn't just an outside thing. And this is kind of interesting, the whole thing has a space behind it here. It's kind of floating. Now our vehicle is equipped with a single CD, but it does read MP3 discs, as well as standard audio. There's an optional 6-disc changer that plays audio CDs, MP3 CDs, and WMA discs, and there's also an iPod adapter that's quite unique to Volvo. It's a dash-mounted dock. Our car doesn't have it, but that's a unique way to hold an iPod in the vehicle while driving. Also in terms of satellite radio, this is a Ford-related product, so you can get Sirius in here. The audio system is very good in this car. It's a DINA audio system , it's a Danish maker of speakers. The tune of 650 Watts, 10 drivers in all, and it does have Dolby Pro Logic II, to create synthetic surround from digital stereo sources. Now I've got to say I don't think it sounds very good when you're got the surround turned on, it just gets messy. But maybe some folks think that's really cool. I just think it sounds inaccurate. And if you've got the iPod adapter for not, you do have an aux jack back here in the console. There's a nav rig available on this vehicle, has a pop-up display in the dashtop here, and it has a remote control -- we've shown you this before on some Volvo vehicles. It's unusual, I don't think I know of another maker that gives you a remote to operate your nav unit. Now Volvo, of course, is the safe car company. It's a mantle they've occupied for years and they keep doubling down on it. This vehicle's available with front and rear part assist. It's not really safety, but it's a form much it. But it also offers "bliss" in that same category. This is the blind spot information system, or indicator system. What happens is the vehicle looks in your blind spots, using radar technology, I believe. And then if there's something there in that area and you're about to go that way, indicators that would be mounted right here in the mirror pods on the side view mirrors -- would flash to let you know there's something in your blind spot. That's a Volvo thing that they're pushing really hard. Some interior niceties in this vehicle, you could get a power glass moon roof. I recommend it, because there's plenty of headroom in this car. Let's talk power train now. Our vehicle has the five-speed automatic with geartronic. That means you can get over here into a gait and shift this guy. No paddles. The base transmission is much more interesting. Especially for this car. 6-speed manual close-ratio gear box. I would definitely opt for that. Oh, did you notice this? The world's craziest-looking hand break lever. Comes up like a big 'ole hoop. Style never ends. Let's go. Now under the hood is one of those Volvo-ish motors. A two-and-a-half liter in line 5 transversely mounted front wheel drive -- this guy drags its tail -- turbo charged -- good for 227 horsepower, 236 on the foot pounds. Okay, let's price our C30. This guy is what they call a Version 2. So that's got the DINA audio system, the fancy tires and wheels, the body cladding, a better suspension and that goofy spoiler over the back end. All that, about $26,500. On top, $2,100 or so gets you the nav system with the remote control. Another $500 or thereabouts for the 6-disc changer. Don't know the price on the iPod adapter. That is dealer installed, so go haggle your best. $1,250 for the automatic transmission system, and $555 for the wood-trimmed steering wheel.
