>> NARRATOR: I feel guilty on this one. I'm going to check out the cabin tech on a car that really doesn't live and die at all on its cabin tech. But that's the gig so let's take a look. This [inaudible] unit has a whole bunch of weirdness going on. Now bear in mind this is the upgraded unit. Which includes navigation and improved audio and audio sources. Here's where it gets odd. Normally this vehicle without the navigation has a six disk in dash changer MP3 ability as well as standard audio disks. Nice. But if you upgrade you get the navigation system, you lose CDs. Period. All you have left is AM/FM you do get sirius and an iPod adapter down here. That's kind of cool, it's a true iPod jack mounted here in consul in its own little pocket. And then under CD you have the iPod. Huh. Doesn't look like an iPod to me. You still see CDs. There are six virtual disks and without doing some more research, I'm not sure what that refers to. So obviously the iPod is using the CD changer bust that's why the CD changer which is normally a separate outboard unit goes away. Also we have aux indicator here. The manual lists aux as "special equipment" which I guess means it's dealer installed. It doesn't really say, but I haven't found an aux jack yet. It is not really any clear indication where I might do so. Put in a front [inaudible] unit. Let's go on the road with, This Car Shines. ^M00:01:31

>>NARRATOR: This car has the VR 63.2 dual overhead cam four valves on 250 some odd horse power for around 235 on the foot pounds. Not overwhelming, but it's not a very heavy car. Performance is pretty good. Zero to 60 in 6.5. Good but not stunning by any stretch which brings us to the transition, a DSG we love this gear box. We've seen it before on other Audis in particular this DSG is a manual with two computer controlled electromechanical clutches in it. Two sets of gears on separate shafts so it's able to automatically go gear, gear, gear, gear A B A B on the internal shafts. It's a manual it's not an automatic but you can just by putting it in drive right here on the gear shift or snap it over to the tiptronic gate and now you've got your up and down plus of course you've got your paddle shifter. And this car's mission is simple and so is the option list. The buying process is really quick. You go to the dealer you tell them what color you want and if you want the option or not. Not options, option. The only one is the nav sirius iPod package. Take it or leave it. I think I'd leave it that tail spin that leaves the car 33 grand.
