>> Now what makes this minivan of all things, a Tech lover's delight, starts right here at the head unit. HDD, what? Hard drive in a car, I love it. Next to that is a juke box icon to access some of the material that we've ripped to our drive; you can also head over here oh and play a disc, that old fashion silver stuff. Check out the logos here, MP3, WMA and hello JPEG because that is also something you can do on this vehicle. Not only can you access and listen to your music but here is my pictures, very Windows-esked and that's where you can get to your various photos. Take a look at your vacation pictures while you're underway on vacation with the family, how did they get on there? Right here--USB jack folks. That's how you load things off your camera. Serious radio, that's not too interesting, there it is Satellite radio; okay we've seen that a thousand times in cars, but here's something new--Satellite TV, hello; serious backseat TV. This is brand new on the market; it's using the serious Satellite network but instead of the bits carrying audio they carry video. Bits is bits after all. Only a few channels; it's very kid-aimed right now; you've got Nick, Disney and the Cartoon network that's it. Let's see how it looks--not bad, it's not quite standard depth television quality at least not in this implementation, but I'll tell you what--that's pretty interesting. One of the things our main LCD is used for is the park view camera. It's not bad; it definitely has good color balance so that is based on the package you get with these vehicles. Power on this vehicle is available from either a 3.8 or a 4-liter V-6. Not a big difference in displacement but I'd go for the 4 for something this big and girthy. You get 250 horsepower with that top engine and about 260 foot pounds of torque. Oh hi. Backseat is great. Our car is optioned up with the dual rear seat video system--8-inch, 8-inch, 2 LCD's, one for second and one for third rail [assumed spelling]; of course you've got an infrared wireless remote to control the whole deal. The DVD drive for all this is up in the front; that's ergonomically a little bit of a disaster but that's how they keep the whole back area clear with the stow and go technology, allowing you to get a completely flat low floor in the rear. Wireless headphones of course, two pair included with this backseat video option. The other cool technology that our vehicle doesn't have unfortunately are swivel second row seats. So these guys here, these second rows would spin around to face the third row and there's also an optional table that you can either have erected or fold away. I should also point out where back here you've got power open and close for these side doors on both sides of the Caravan. Let's price our '08 Grand Caravan. You want to start with at least the SXT trim and that's gonna base around 27,500; and then if you wanna add the minimum package which will bring you the Mygig system, the rear-view camera, not a whole lot else--that's 2,000 more. If you wanna go all the way with everything I've shown you plus the swivel seats we didn't have in the second row, that's about 7200 bucks on top of the MSRP. ^M00:03:19 [ Music ] ^M00:03:22

2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT Review
The good: With the MyGig entertainment system and Sirius satellite TV, the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan offers unique and useful entertainment options. The engine produces plenty of useful power and the handling is surprisingly good.
The bad: Our tested average mileage was well below 20 mpg, and we weren't at all impressed with the stereo's audio quality. The exterior design doesn't break any new ground.
The bottom line: The 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan defies the normal expectations for drivability in a minivan, while offering excellent entertainment features for families. Its few flaws are the kinds of things you might expect in a minivan.
