>> These days, Japanese automakers can seem to do no wrong, except for Mitsubishi, which isn't doing that great. Don't really know why. Let's go inside and check the tech and look for clues. ^M00:00:11 [ Music ] ^M00:00:19 Now right off the bat, there's good and bad news. No nav system to show you. That was not optioned up on our vehicle. But we do have the upgraded Rockford Bozgate audio system. It has a six disk, in dash CD, MP3 CD, changer. So you can put home brewed disks as well as store bought CDs in there. It includes an auxiliary input jack, strangely located behind the console. And Sirius satellite radio. No specific iPod adapter is available in the Mitsubishi option sheet. So even at the highest end, you're still going make do with the auxiliary jacks for your iPod or do a third party after market solution. The last feature I want to show you is one that you hear me bitch about all the time. Paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. Stupidest idea ever. As the steering wheel turns, the shifters go with them. So where's the downshift indicator? Well, depends which way you're turning. That makes no sense. That would be like your gearshift moving whenever you turn the steering wheel. Who the hell would want a car like that? Mitsubishi does what the really high end and racecar fabricators do. They put the paddles right here on column. So whenever you turn the wheel, it doesn't matter. Your shifters are where they should be. So you know where to go to snatch a downshift or an up shift. This is good thinking. Speaking of shifting, you only have one transmission choice, a six-speed automatic sport shift, it's one of those shiftable slush boxes. And that gets power out of three liter, single overhead cam My Vech engine, that's their brand of variable valve timing and control. 220 horsepower, about 204 foot-pounds. And on our vehicle, because it is an all wheel drive, we do have this control knob right here to let us go between the modes. Pricing our Outlander. 25600 base, that's for the high trim XLS all wheel drive. Now we add on some packages. One is called Sun and Sound. Sun is the power glass roof. Sound is the Rockford Bozgate with Auks in, all the amps and speakers and Sirius, 6 months prepaid. That's 1600 bucks. 1500 dollars for a luxury package of leather heated seats and self-leveling, high intensity discharge headlights. 1500 is going to bring you a package of rear seat entertainment. That's the system with the headphones, the player, and the screen. And the last option is 1800 for the navigation and the digital music server built in. ^M00:02:36 [ Music ]

The 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT is a distinctively styled convertible with a sparse but comfortable cabin. Despite its powerful V-6 and sports-car profile, it's happier changing lanes on the freeway than racing off the lights.

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander Review
The good: The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander's V-6 produces solid power, decent mileage, and very low emissions. On-the-fly four-wheel-drive gives the car traction in slippery conditions. It also offers better and more complete cabin technology, including hard-drive-based navigation and standard Bluetooth cell phone integration, than any car in its price range.
The bad: The Bluetooth system can't access your cell phone's phone book, and the stereo can overwhelm its own speakers.
The bottom line: The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander offers great technology without getting too expensive while striking a near-perfect compromise between emissions, power, and mileage. It's a practical car for a wide variety of uses.
