>> Before you check the tech on the new LS460, you better hit the head and grab a lunch, we're going to be here a while. Let's check it out. [ Music ] Of course, this car has navigation, that is standard on the vehicle. We go to our map. We are treated to really outstanding graphics. It's a beautiful screen. The resolution is nicely rendered. There aren't any nasty artifacts that make the edges of roads or fonts hard to read. Of course, it's a touch screen and the numbers and the various buttons are all nice and large. You'll also find that this vehicle not only has the ability to show XM nav traffic, but also verbally as part of the spoken audio from the navigation system. Let me show you how the voice works on the traffic by touching one of those warning signs right there on the map.

>> Now the base audio system in a Lexus LS as you might imagine is pretty darn good, 10 speakers, digital signal processing, built in six-disk CD changer and an auxiliary input jack right in here inside the console. No iPod adapters available by the way. But our car has the upgraded, Mark Levinson Reference Surround System. 19 speakers around the cabin, yes I ran around and counted them. They're all there. And a hard drive of which 8 gigabytes is devoted to you ripping music from CDs onto the car's drive, so you have a built in in-dash iPod. Maybe that's why there's no iPod adapter. The car is an iPod. Now of course Lexus is big on safety. When you're competing head on with Mercedes, you have to be. There's a lot of safety technology in this car. A couple things I want to show you that are crowd pleaser include the rearview back up camera. Now as you look at the rearview camera, you see a couple of unusual icons here. A parallel parking icon and a head in parking icon. Because this car will park itself. Lexus Park Assist. That's a form of safety I think. Keeps you from banging up your car or someone else's. Let's check out how it works. ^M00:01:58 [ Music ] ^M00:02:34 Oh. Taking a break. It was a lot of work covering this car. Let's check out the rear seat tech and there's plenty of it. First of all, here are your rear seat power adjusted incline controls. You can slide the seat up and back. You can also change the incline of the backrest and you've also got a power adjuster for the headrest. In here are your heating and cooling controls for each seat and the button in the middle handles the power rear sunshade to keep the ozone off your pate. If you want to go even further, there's a rear seat upgrade package. That brings you a cooling pack in here. Basically a little mini fridge for beverages and snacks. And then there's an ultimate package where you can equip this seat here, sort of the CEO, the boss seat with shiatsu massage and a power ottoman. I'm not kidding. Okay let's price this big boy out. The LS460L bases at 71000. The options we have here show about 3000 dollars for better leather, heated and cooled, memory reclining power rear seats. Another 2500 dollars for that Mark Levinson system that includes the hard drive you can rip to. About 500 for the parking sensors around the bumpers.
