>> Kinda hard to get excited about another biggest crossover SUV, isn't it? Well I got to tell you, this GMC Acadia makes a credible run on the Germans. Let's Check the Tech. ^M00:00:10 [ music ] ^M00:00:15 [ background music ] Here's the nav system, the optional GPS navigation unit. You can get into the navigation and destination interface relatively easily with a good number of dedicated buttons around the side. And then you get into these buttons here on the screen, yes they are touch screen which is nice. I find the process here is a tad laggy. The keyboard is non-QWERTY, it's an ABCD, which I don't prefer, but that's not a big deal for most folks. And actually entering things in is only slightly delayed by that under-processored brain. Resolution and interface aren't bad, we've seen a lot better, we've seen a lot worse. So I'd call this guy mid-pack. Across the top here I've got a single disc slot where I was currently playing an MP3 CD, but notice what else I can do. I pop that out, in goes a DVD video, because the little logo right here says I can watch movies. Let's find out. The car's in park, the parking brake's on, and what do you know? Our movie's playing. By the way, we'll get to the rear seat entertainment in just a moment, but this car does have the ability to play DVDs when you're sitting still on the nav screen. Now our vehicle has a six disc CD changer. I only find a single slot here, I couldn't find the six disc changer. It's not called out in the manual. I did find this suspicious looking wiring harness laying in the back, this may have something to do with the fact that I didn't find the six disc changer that I think connects to the business end of it, so I can't show you that. In terms of the audio sound, it's got a good low-end oomph to it. It's BOSE branded, there's a sub-woofer, you see you've got a fairly good array of audio tweaking controls here in this very nice, graphical touch screen interface. Controlling this entertainment system is a distributed process. Aside from this touch screen system in the front, you've also got some rear seat controls for the second row, AUX in, headphone out, and some various track and mode buttons. And you've got a set of odd controls at the very back, back in stowage, a place where you really can't sit unless you're a corpse. So you can use this thing as a giant boom box at picnics. So it's either cool or weird, depending on how you live. Now not quite so far back in the vehicle, mid ships here is the rear seat entertainment system, a nice flip down Panasonic rig, it's also got as I mentioned, isolation so you can do one media operation in the back, while the folks in the front are listening to, or if they're parked, watching the same video as the folks in the rear. So kind of an interesting split mix. Couple last bits of tech I want to how you right here in the driver's seat. You have an interesting combination of navigation options. I showed you the nav screen here in the DVD GPS system, but you've also got On-Star turn by turn directions, which get downloaded and prompted to you on a dashboard display. And then this little knob right here of course turns up and down the heads up display. This is a very affordable option on this vehicle, and I got to tell you, it's one of the brighter, more readable HUDS I've ever seen. I see temperature, speedometer, gear selection. That's a good array of information. Now this is an Acadia SLT2, all wheel drive, stabilitrac, three point six V6, and six speed auto. Thirty seven three. And that includes a lot of creature comforts I haven't told you about. But in terms of tech, the nav system is about twenty one fifty, rear seat entertainment thirteen hundred, and the heads up display a surprisingly cheap three fifty. ^M00:03:37 [ music ]
