The good: Engine pulls like a freight train; optional sports suspension is highly tossable; excellent fit and finish throughout.

The bad: Lumpy clutch feel; iDrive is annoyingly overkill without the navigation option; exterior styling takes getting used to.

The bottom line: If you approach life as one big Grand Prix, the BMW 530i is definitely your $50,000-ish sedan. If you aren't a type-A personality, find a Lexus dealer.
