A few frustrating tech shortcomings let it down, but the 2006 Acura MDX is still a good mix of comfort and utility at its price.
The 2006 Acura TSX is a well-balanced, well-appointed car. Its four-cylinder engine is surprisingly stout, and cabin electronics are in line with Acura's high-tech focus, although the carmaker could do with outsourcing its audio systems.
Over-the-top tech feature: The 2005 Acura RL's climate control uses GPS and solar sensing to compensate for the vehicle's position relative to the sun.
The 2007 Acura RDX is a decent value, with practical interior space and very good drivability. Techies will delight in its cabin systems, but luddites will be overwhelmed by the many buttons and voice commands.
The Pioneer VSX-1018AH's solid sound and generous feature package make it a great value in the midrange AV receiver class.
For around $30,000, you can put a lot more excitement into your life than what's offered by the 2007 Acura TSX. But the TSX is a good value with real geek appeal, bringing in a complete set of cabin gadgets for a good price.
